Bethanie Mattek-Sands is a nine time Grand Slam champion and as a player both on and off the court evokes a positive mindset.
So as part of My UTR's All Access Series, Mattek-Sands was interviewed and spoke about how to achieve this even from a young age and what she'd do differently if she went back.
"There's been ups, there's been downs but one of the biggest takeaways that I can give is that you have a choice in your attitude, you have a choice in how you look at things and I put it out there so I say if you wanna talk the talk, you've got to walk the walk," said Mattek-Sands to My UTR.
"You say I'm one of the most positive people, anyone can be. It's building a habit but I think if I were giving advice to coaches, parents and juniors, it's worth it to play in your age group. As much as I was dominating when I was 12, I was playing 18's.
The next level is can I win a Grand Slam, too many times you have these really talented kids that are always used to playing older kids and then all of a sudden, when they play somebody of their own age, we're going into the mental and emotional realm of that."
