Gael Monfils has been one of tennis's success stories in the past 18 months with the Frenchman up until the break due to Coronavirus playing some of the best tennis in the world in patches.
This was shown with Monfils winning back to back titles in Montpellier and Rotterdam. The 33 year old has broken back into the top 10 again 11 years after initially doing so and at No.9 just seems to be getting better and better.
He spoke about the double win and putting a series together and what he believes he can produce ranking wise in the future.
"It's the biggest part of the tour is to have success, back-to-back, week after week so it's demanding but we train for that. We train physically and mentally to put us in the spot where we know we can win and win," said Monfils to
ATP Uncovered.
"The aim is to try and be stable in the top ten, maybe for the first time top five. I've been sixth the highest and maybe if I can win another title, it might mean a higher spot to establish myself further in the top ten."
"Why not try to go a bit higher?"
