The 2023 Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) season will come to and end this weekend in London, and founder Patrick Mouratoglou has stated he would like to get the ball rolling on a WTA version as soon as possible.
With several of the top male tennis superstars competing for glory this weekend, Mouratoglou, who is the brains behind the fast-paced, innovative event, stated he would like to create an event featuring the world's top females in the future.
"We had one event for the women, which Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova won,” Mouratoglou said at UTS London on Thursday. “It’s been very difficult to have both Tours at the same time and it’s very expensive. If we could have done it already, we would have done. It’s a little easier with the men’s Tour because the business is bigger but as soon as we are able to handle both tours, there’s no question we will have a women’s Tour.”
The Ultimate Tennis Showdown Grand Final begins on Friday, and features eight of the top men vying for the title. The likes of Andrey Rublev, Gael Monfils and Alexander Bublik, amongst others will be competing in two round-robin groups, with the top two progressing to the Final Four.
