Lucas Pouille, who once was ranked 10 in the world, announced that he will need to undergo right elbow surgery. Pouille hasn't been enjoying much success ever since he climbed that high some time ago. Many attributed that to a lack of form but the Frenchman has had a lot of issues with injuries and now a new problem arose.
Announcing the decision about the surgery on his twitter, the Frenchman said:
“It’s never an easy decision to take,” Pouille wrote. “After new medical exams, it appeared it was the best solution in order to finally be able to play pain-free. I still hope to play before the end of the season. See you all soon.”
The lack of proper results dropped him down to 62 in the rankings and his last tournament played was the Indian Wells Challenger a few days before the tour got suspended. He lost to Noah Rubin at the event. We wish him a speedy recovery.
