Emma Raducanu has donned shades on public transport in an effort to stay out of the limelight whilst she recovers from injuries.
Former British No. 1 Raducanu has had a difficult time of late with her tennis career. She soared up the ranks a couple of years ago, culminating in her victory at the 2021 US Open final against Leylah Fernandez.
However, she has been plagued with injuries since her fairytale run at Flushing Meadows, and this season the former world No. 10 was forced to withdraw from the French Open and Wimbledon in order to have surgery on her wrists and ankle.
Despite her recent absence from the court, Raducanu appears to remain in good spirits as she works on recovering from surgery. The 20-year-old jokingly shared a photo of herself in a pulled-up hoodie and sunglasses on a bus as she traveled to rehab for her injuries, implying she is trying to disguise herself.
However, whilst the picture has fun connotations, it also acts as a reminder of the intense scrutiny that the young player has received from fans and the media since her breakthrough season two years ago, something which she has admitted to struggling with in the past.
Nevertheless, Raducanu seems to be doing well as she looks towards getting back to form and returning to tournaments. Along with her funny incognito post, the Brit also shared a picture of her wearing a T-shirt displaying the word 'Progress' along the back, captioning the post 'A week of what the t-shirt says.'
In addition to this, Raducanu joked about how her busy schedule has meant that she has switched out M&S Colin the Caterpillar sweets, which she has previously been spotted with, for a cake version, posting a photo of Sainsbury's Wiggles the Caterpillar with the caption,
"Daily workouts with rush hr commutes meant i cheated on colin."
