"Venus did it first" #VenusWilliams
Venus Williams has delighted tennis fans after being spotted wearing a sweatshirt reading 'Venus did it first'.
Former world No. 1 Venus Williams has been embracing her achievements through her clothing. The 43-year-old has seven major singles titles and is a 14-time Grand Slam champion in doubles.
Most recently, the older of the legendary Williams sisters competed at this year's Wimbledon, where she faced Elina Svitolina in her opening round. Despite a strong start, Venus suffered a fall which impacted her ability for the rest of the match and her opponent ultimately took the win 6-4, 6-3.
After Wimbledon, Williams took some time away from the court to enjoy a vacation in Amsterdam with her sister Serena, who is currently pregnant with her second child.
Venus then went to Italy before being seen at Rafael Nadal's tennis academy in Spain.
Following on from this, a photo emerged on social media of the tennis legend going about her day whilst wearing a green sweatshirt with the words 'Venus did it first' displayed across the front.
This led many tennis fans to share their delight and admiration on social media, with one Twitter user posting
"I am so here for Venus claiming her cocky era!"
Meanwhile, other fans expressed their wish to own the sweatshirt,
"I need it in ALL the colors," wrote one, whilst another told the tennis star to "Take all my money" so they could buy the item of clothing from her. Meanwhile, another commented
"How can we get this??!!! NEED ASAP! And yes, the green."
Williams is set to be back on the court soon at the Canadian Open, a WTA 1000 event, after receiving a wildcard into the main draw. She competed at the tournament last year, where she lost to Jil Teichmann in the round of 64.
