Chris Eubanks is set to make another ranking breakthrough as he moves into the top 30 just months after entering the top 100.
27-year-old Eubanks has had what many would describe as a fairytale run this season. He won his first ATP title at the 2023
Mallorca Championships, immediately before making his
Wimbledon debut.
Eubanks' success continued at the All England Club, as he reached the quarterfinals of the tournament by beating twelfth seed Cameron Norrie and world No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas along the way. Despite eventually losing to third seed Daniil Medvedev, the American was still able to take the match to five sets.
A breakthrough season
Following on from Eubanks' success at the SW19, he was voted this year's breakthrough player at the tournament, following in the footsteps of Carlos Alcaraz, Emma Raducanu and Coco Gauff.
However, this is just one of many ways that Eubanks has been moving up in the tennis world, as the current world No. 32 is now set to be in the top 30 of the
ATP rankings for the first time when they are updated on Monday, July 31.
This comes just months after Eubanks made his first breakthrough into the top 100 at the Miami Open in April. At the event, he made his way through qualifiers before defeating the likes of Borna Coric and Adrian Mannarino to reach the quarter-finals.
He then made the top 50 after his victory in Mallorca, where he won against Ben Shelton and Lloyd Harris before facing Mannarino again in the final and winning 6-1, 6-4.
This short time frame gives a clear indication as to just how successful the last few months have been for the player.
Following on from Wimbledon, Eubanks competed in his hometown tournament, the
Atlanta Open. Despite losing to Aleksandar Vukic in his quarter-final match, he will no doubt be looking forward to climbing the rankings again.
