Chris Evert sent her support to her best friend Martina Navratilova over Roger Federer for a potential statue to be built at Wimbledon after the idea was posed.

A fan suggested the idea of having a statue for Federer given his record breaking exploits of eight titles at the All England Lawn and Tennis Club. He is the greatest male tennis player in Wimbledon history. Winning the title eight times, he has spanned two decades with those wins.

He has also won five in a row which is the most ever with Djokovic just missing that record. As a result, the theories fly out about a potential statue. The user shared a hypothetical statue and asked whether he deserved to have one.

Evert replied saying that Navratilova should have one instead of Federer which perhaps is more of a shout given that she did win the title nine times. This surpasses any player male or female. But by the same token some could call for one for Andy Murray realistically given he is a home hero.

"What about @Martina who's won it 9 times?" the American wrote and queried as a result of the questioning surrounding Federer.
