The schedule for Day Six of Roland Garros French Open 2025 has been released, marking the start of the third round, featuring the top-half of the WTA draw and the bottom-half of the ATP draw. Female World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and Male World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz will be the main attractions on Philippe Chatrier Stadium.
Meanwhile, four-time French Open champion Iga Swiatek has been relegated to Suzanne-Lenglen Stadium, becoming the main draw at the second most important stadium, which will also feature Lorenzo Musetti and Elena Rybakina among the day's stars.

Philippe Chatrier

The day will open with none other than three-time Grand Slam champion Aryna Sabalenka, starting at 12:00 local time, playing against the always tricky Olga Danilovic (No. 34). The Belarusian has had no problems so far in Paris and has looked just as imposing as throughout the last year. She has already defeated Kamila Rakhimova and Jil Teichman – conceding a total of 5 games across both matches – and against the Serb, she again appears as the heavy favorite. Nevertheless, Danilovic is on a good run, eliminating two significant names like Leylah Fernandez and Danielle Collins, and will be ready to seek another surprise.
After that match, it will be the turn of Holger Rune (No. 10), who will once again take to the main court, facing local player Quentin Halys (No. 52), who reaches the third round of Roland Garros for the first time. The 28-year-old capitalized on Tomas Machac's (21st) retirement and then overcame Miomir Kecmanovic to achieve his best performance so far in Paris. He will face a Rune who is in inspired form, with a title at the Barcelona Open a few weeks ago and who decisively eliminated Emilio Nava in straight sets.
The third match will feature Rome Open champion Jasmine Paolini (No. 4) – Roland Garros finalist in 2024 – who is on an eight-match winning streak. The Italian has quietly advanced through rounds and faces Ukrainian qualifier Yulia Starodubtseva (No. 81), who has never been at this stage of a Slam before. With no previous encounters, the Italian is again the favorite and will look to continue extending her clay-court streak in search of advancing to the second week of the tournament.

Jasmine Paolini won her second WTA 1000 title two weeks ago at Rome Open.
The night match will feature defending men's champion Carlos Alcaraz (No. 2) against the surprise Damir Dzumhur (No. 69). The Bosnian defeated Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and is in the third round of a major for the first time. It will be a more than difficult task against a "Carlitos" who brings a 17-1 record in the clay-swing – with titles at Monte-Carlo Masters and Rome Open. The Spaniard appears as the heavy favorite, and with experience and the crowd on his side, it's expected that he won't have too many problems. However, the Bosnian – with nothing to lose – will go looking for another upset.

Suzanne Lenglen

The day will open with Italian Lorenzo Musetti (No. 8) against clay-specialist Mariano Navone (No. 97), starting at 11:00 local time. The Argentinian – without drawing too much attention – is one of those who elevates his game most on slow courts, also being one of the most outstanding on return. Few players can impose themselves too much from the serve against Navone, and Musetti will have to be prepared for long rallies and to be patient in finding openings in Navone's defense. Nevertheless, the Italian is the favorite and will seek to maintain the momentum of his excellent clay-court swing.
Once that match concludes, Polish player Iga Swiatek (No. 5) will return to the court. The Queen of Clay already has a 23-match winning streak at Roland Garros, and her win against Emma Raducanu was surely a confidence boost in the midst of a season that has been inconsistent in terms of results. She will face Jaqueline Cristian (No. 60), who for the second consecutive major has made it to the third round, something unprecedented in her previous Grand Slam main draw appearances.

Iga Swiatek has a record 37-2 in French Open so far. She won 4 titles in the last 5 editions.
The third match will be a very interesting showdown between 2017 Roland Garros champion Jelena Ostapenko (No. 21) and Elena Rybakina (No. 11). The Latvian is somewhat unpredictable in her game, but clay courts suit her more than well. She has already defeated Swiatek and Sabalenka on clay on her way to the title in Stuttgart, so the name of her opponent will matter little to her. Ostapenko has the conviction to put up a fight against Rybakina, who is slowly rediscovering her best level and is on a six-match winning streak after winning the Strasbourg Open title last weekend.
Closing out the day on Lenglen will be an all-American clash between Frances Tiafoe (No. 16) and Sebastian Korda (No. 23). While neither of them is a clay specialist, both have titles on the surface, and there won't be a clear favorite for the victory. This match could go either way, and – at least on paper – we can anticipate a long match between two players who have secured convincing victories so far in the tournament.
