The 23-time Grand Slam champion recently received praise from players of the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers. During Women's History Month, the players remembered Williams, hailing her as 'the greatest athlete of all time' and a 'sports legend':
"She's the GOAT, hands down like it's not even debatable. She might be the greatest athlete of all time, period! It takes a tremendous amount of sacrifice amongst other things to be able to do what she does. She's an inspiration," said Shake Milton.
Another player who highlighted Williams was James Harden:
"You know, we're from the same place, both from Compton," asserted the 33-year-old. "So, the amount of distraction is crazy and for her to make it out of Compton and recognize as the best female player to touch a racket and not even just tennis but she's a sports icon, sports legend in general."
