Winning the Wimbledon is extremely hard but Simona Halep did it and knows what it takes so she reflected upon that journey.

Wimbledon is one of the most prestigious events in tennis history and winning it is everyone's goal and dream. For Simona Halep it was one of her dreams but while she never lacked belief in herself she seriously doubted that she could ever win Wimbledon.
Speaking to BBC Sport she said:
“It was a dream - although more for my parents! Every player dreams to win Wimbledon, but I didn't have the courage to think I would be there one day. Winning was huge."
Regrettably, for many fans and her, she won't be defending her title as Wimbledon was canceled this year. When asked what she thought about the cancellation she spoke of it a positive joking manner:
“I'm the Wimbledon champion for two years - I love that! I have one more year to enjoy it more, it is huge- And I have received some towels, a cap, and a T-shirt from Wimbledon - so it made me feel like I'm playing this year.”
While she was absolutely delighted to win it did bring her some stress particularly about the gala event afterward. As tradition has it the male and female winners share a dance at the gala. Halep wasn't keen on dancing and she politely declined it. Remembering that instance she said:
“I was very stressed and I asked if I had to do it. They said it was up to me, but I said: ‘No thanks.’ I didn't want to fall over!”.
