Study finds Raducanu only British Women's No.1 sports player to receive more media coverage than Men's Number One in Norrie

With 2022 set to conclude, Runners Need have conducted a study analysing the top female and male players in different sports to find out the disparity in the media coverage depending on sport.

Tennis is the only sport in which this is flipped with Emma Raducanu the only British Women's Number One sports player to gain more attention than her male counterpart in Cameron Norrie who himself is heading towards the top 10 in the ATP Rankings.

Raducanu during this year received 59,740 mentions compared to 40,523 from Norrie, albeit the latter is spoken more favorably in the press with a 77% positive sentiment rating compared to 66% for the US Open champion who amid the acclaim has also received some criticism for failing to back up her victory at Flushing Meadows.

Social media wise, Raducanu has 2.5m Instagram followers which is 20x Norrie's following but this is no surprise given her sudden rise to fame.
