Caroline Garcia has announced some brilliant news that she will soon become a mother for the first time.
The former WTA Finals champion enjoyed a delightful tennis career, scooping up a number of accolades in the process. She retired from the sport in 2025 after announcing that she would only be competing in a select few tournaments, including her home event at Roland Garros for the final time. She ended it at the US Open, losing in the first round to end her career at the age of 31 as she looked to move on with her life from the stress and mental exhaustion while recovering from prior injury problems.
The Frenchwoman has focused her time on growing her podcast the Tennis Insider Club while focusing on other hobbies like padel and golf. In the meantime, she also got married to her partner, Borja Duran, Spanish entrepreneur and Tennis Insider Club co-host, in July of 2025.
Garcia and Duran have now taken the next stage in their relationship as Garcia announced on social media that she will become a mother. "The family is growing,"
she wrote while posting four photos of the couple on a beach with the pictures showing that she is pregnant.
They have received a lot of love and support on social media with positive messages being hurled in their direction. Former world number one Garbine Muguruza shared some heart emojis while three-time Grand Slam finalist and
also soon-to-be mum Ons Jabeur wrote: "Félicitation."
Garcia was most well-known on court for winning the 2022 WTA Finals in a remarkable result against Aryna Sabalenka. Before this, she had reached the semi-finals of the US Open and won the Cincinnati Open title which confirmed her purple patch in form. She climbed to a career-high of world number four.
In total, she collected 11 WTA singles titles from 16 finals reached, which included three WTA 1000 triumphs as the pick of the crop. Garcia also won two doubles Grand Slam titles at Roland Garros in 2016 and 2022, both times with fellow countrywoman Kristina Mladenovic, reaching a high of world number two in the doubles rankings.
Overall a very commendable career, which she left on a positive note believing that she had completed as much as she possibly could have. Now with other interests away from the court since hanging up her racket, she will now look towards becoming a mother for the first time.
