Taylor Fritz, Victoria Mboko and Holger Rune are among the notable names registered for the 2027 United Cup, as the mixed-team competition begins to take shape ahead of the new tennis season. Italy has also put forward Flavio Cobolli and Luciano Darderi, as Hubert Hurkacz will lead the Polish team to defend the 2026 title.
The initial registration list features players from 12 countries, including Poland, Denmark, Hungary, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Great Britain, Czechia and Norway. However, the names currently available do not represent the final line-ups, and participation has not yet been officially confirmed for every player. The registration deadline is November 9, leaving time for further additions before the field is finalised.
The tournament will open the 2027 tennis season from January 1 to 10, with matches scheduled in Perth and Sydney, Australia. As in previous editions, the United Cup will bring men's and women's players together to represent their countries, with ties decided through men's singles, women's singles and mixed doubles.
The format gives national teams an opportunity to combine individual performances with the depth of their doubles options.

Rune, Auger-Aliassime and Mboko among notable early entries
Canada has registered Felix Auger-Aliassime and Victoria Mboko, a pairing that could make the country one of the strongest teams confirmed so far. Both players have previously reached the top 10 and will be looking to build match fitness quickly ahead of the Australian Open. They also teamed up at the 2026 edition, but failed to advance beyond the group stage after beating China 3-0 before suffering a 3-0 defeat to Belgium.
Italy has also put forward Flavio Cobolli and Luciano Darderi, offering the prospect of a team built around two established singles players. Cobolli has led the Italian men's contingent in each of the last two editions, alongside Jasmine Paolini. However, Paolini does not currently feature among the country's registered players, leaving her participation in the 2027 event unconfirmed.
Rune is another major name on the early entry list. Denmark will make its United Cup debut, with the former world No. 4 becoming the first player from the country to register. Like several other players, Rune will be looking to regain competitive rhythm and collect ranking points after falling outside the top 100 following almost a year away from the courts.
Denmark could also feature former world No. 12 Clara Tauson, the country's leading women's player. However, injuries disrupted her 2026 campaign, and she struggled to meet expectations before dropping outside the top 50 in recent weeks. Her potential participation alongside Rune would give Denmark an experienced pairing for its first appearance in the competition.
Twelve teams have so far registered players, although the final field is expected to feature 18 nations, provided the format remains unchanged. The United Cup offers players an opportunity to begin the season with high-level competition ahead of the Australian Open, while singles victories can earn up to 500 ranking points.

Poland won the 2026 United Cup after dramatic final against Switzerland
The 2026 United Cup ended with Poland lifting the trophy for the first time after defeating Switzerland 2-1 in the final in Sydney. Iga Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz helped Poland reach the championship match, but the title was ultimately decided in mixed doubles after the singles contests were split.
Belinda Bencic gave Switzerland the early advantage by defeating Swiatek 3-6, 6-0, 6-3. Hurkacz then levelled the tie with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 victory over Stan Wawrinka, setting up the deciding mixed-doubles match. Katarzyna Kawa and Jan Zielinski secured the championship for Poland by beating Bencic and Jakub Paul 6-4, 6-3.
The result was particularly significant for Poland, which had reached the final in the previous two editions but failed to win the title. The United States, the defending champions, were eliminated in the semifinals, while Switzerland's run ended just short of the trophy.
The 2026 competition also featured several major names, including Taylor Fritz and Coco Gauff for the United States, Alexander Zverev for Germany, Naomi Osaka for Japan, Casper Ruud for Norway and Jasmine Paolini for Italy. Their presence underlined the event's ability to attract leading players at the start of the season.
With the 2027 registrations still developing, it remains too early to determine which countries will field their strongest possible line-ups. The initial names nevertheless provide an early indication of the players who could feature when the United Cup returns in January, with further announcements expected after the November 9 deadline.
