Venus Williams shared a series of photos from her time at the DC Open, following her notable return to the courts after 15 months. The 45-year-old player is far from contemplating retirement and demonstrated on the Washington hardcourts that she still has the level to compete, after defeating world No. 35 Peyton Stearns in the first round – before falling in the second round to 5th seed Magdalena Frech.
The seven-time Grand Slam champion also competed in women's doubles alongside Hailey Baptiste, where they secured a win before falling in the quarterfinals. Williams recently confirmed her presence at the Cincinnati Open – where she received a wildcard – and is also on the final entry list for the US Open mixed doubles alongside Reilly Opelka, after receiving a wildcard.

Stan Wawrinka surprised fans at a Steve Aoki concert by joining the acclaimed North American DJ onstage during his performance. Aoki was performing in Umag this week, precisely where the three-time Grand Slam champion competed. The Swiss player took the time to attend the concert of the renowned record producer, recognized as one of the best DJs in the world, and even became part of the show by getting on stage and posing for several photos with him.
Wawrinka, 40, secured a victory in the first round of the tournament against Ecuadorian Alvaro Guillen Meza (6-4, 6-1), but then fell in the round of 16 to Bosnian Damir Dzumhur (4-6, 5-7). Wawrinka – currently world No. 152 – is not confirmed for the American hardcourt swing tournaments at the Canadian Open and Cincinnati Open, nor is he entered in the US Open (where due to his ranking he would have to play qualifying). It remains to be seen if he will receive a wildcard from the organization, something that will be confirmed in the coming weeks, and which he has received previously.
