In a year that has seen Martina Navratilova beat cancer, she had a real smile on her face as she returned to the court to play Legends Invitational Mixed Doubles at
Wimbledon.
Playing a group format, she teamed with Mark Woodforde in the same group as Thomas Johannson and Barbara Schett, originally Goran Ivanisevic but replaced by Andrew Castle and Iva Majoli as well as Nenad Zimonjic and Rennae Stubbs.
They lost their first match 3-6, 3-6 to Johansson and Schett with the second being a walk-over due to Ivanisevic not playing so they sit tied on 1-1.
In Group B, it features Todd Woodbridge and Alicia Molik, Mansour Bahrami and Marion Bartoli, Thomas Enqvist and Anne Keothavong and Greg Rusedski and Conchita Martinez.
Women's see the likes of Laura Robson, Caroline Wozniacki, Aga Radwanska, Johanna Konta, defending champions Kim Clijsters and Martina Hingis as well as the recently retired Sania Mirza playing with Konta and Andrea Petkovic.
A real superb feature of Wimbledon, it is not televised but fills the stands as fans flock to see stars of yesteryear including the legendary Navratilova who many see as the greatest of all time.
