Maria Sharapova encouraged John McEnroe to grunt in a fun promotional video released by ESPN.
Two multiple Grand Slam winners met on the court for a practice session. 5-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova and 7-time Grand Slam champion John McEnroe participated in a video where the former Russian tennis star was helping the American with his skills.
During the joint practice, Sharapova asked McEnroe to do an exercise to improve his technique with his groundstrokes, measuring the accuracy of the 64-year-old former tennis player.
McEnroe was supposed to hit a post with his cross-court forehand, but after several attempts, he couldn't do it. That's when Sharapova encouraged him to try something different with louder grunts.
"Can we try something else? You wanna start grunting?" spoke Maria Sharapova.
"A little louder. No. that's not enough. I can't hear you, John," she said.
In a hilarious moment, the American managed to hit the post after a strong grunt and was celebrated by Sharapova
