Alexander Zverev was levied domestic violence allegations again on Wednesday with the World No.19 being accused by Brenda Patea, mother to his child and ex-girlfriend of bodily harm.
She has applied for a penalty order surrounding this which could see Zverev cough up at least 450,000 euros, but Patea herself has denied that there is financial motivation behind it in a statement.
The official statement confirms the news reported by RTL using her information as well as clarifying that no financial claim has been made against Zverev.
"Official statement on the current RTL coverage of Brenda Patea: In this regard, we state that the public prosecutor responsible informed us today that he has applied for a penal order to be issued against Mr. Zverev on the basis of the allegation of bodily harm to the detriment of Ms. Patea. We would also like to clarify that Ms. Patea has not made any financial claim against Mr. Zverev," Brenda Patea's Instagram story read.
They dated from 2019 and gave birth to their daughter in 2021, they stated a difference in their outlook on life as the reason behind their eventual split, Patea announced at the time that she would not share custody with Zverev.
It is not the first time too that Zverev has been accused of this with Olga Sharypova being the main case which prompted a long ATP investigation which found no evidence ruling in favour of Zverev.
