2021 Abierto de Guadalajara Entry List with Stephens, Podoroska, Bouzkova

After the first edition in 2019, the Abierto de Guadalajara returns to the WTA calendar in the second week of March, together with a much stronger WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai.

As was expected, the players from the top will chase the more notable Dubai crown, leaving the Guadalajara entry list with only one top-40 player and two from the top-50 group. The struggling American Sloane Stephens will try to gain some confidence, followed by Nadia Podorska, Marie Bouzkova, Anna Blinkova and Sara Sorribes Tormo. The youngster Leylah Fernandez and Kaja Juvan will try to make a name for themselves in what looks to be a wide-open draw with no favorites.

In the 2019 final, Veronika Kudermetova took down Marie Bouzkova 6-2, 6-0 in 61 minutes, saving all six break chances and delivering five breaks to control the scoreboard and win the title.
