Jennifer Brady summarises Australian Open final berth as 'pretty exciting'

Jennifer Brady came out on top in her match against Muchova to reach her first Grand Slam Final.

It was a spectacular Australian Open semifinal match which saw Brady came out on top against Karolina Muchova to secure her first Grand Slam final berth. The match was amazing and it featured a mammoth last game that saw Brady squander four match points before finally sealing the deal. Immediately upon finish, Brady said:

“I can’t feel my legs. My legs are shaking, my heart is racing,”

She has been slowly improving over the years and playing better as big results finally started coming last year. She reached the semifinal at the US Open where she played great but now she took things even further. It was not easy for Brady who recapped the match with:

“I came out a little strange today. I was super excited but at the same time pretty flat-footed. My legs felt fresh but at the same time were not moving. I felt like I was stuck in mud. I didn't pick up my intensity until the beginning of the third set.”

In the final, she will face Naomi Osaka who defeated Serena Williams in the first semifinal. It will be a reprisal of the US Open semifinal last year where Osaka came out on top after a hard-fought victory in three sets. Recently Osaka said it was one of the best matches she ever played. On the upcoming semifinal Brady briefly said:

“I’m obviously pretty excited to be in the final. It’s an incredible achievement. I think it will be a really tough match. Obviously, she (Osaka) has won a few Grand Slams. I think it’ll be a really good match.”
