After the US Open concludes tennis is returning to Europe with the 2021
Ostrava Open which is a WTA 500 event that will run from the 20th till the 26th of September in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
The event will be played indoors as a sort of the start of the indoor hard court season. The 2021 edition will be the 2nd edition of the event with the first one being held last year.
The defending champion is Aryna Sabalenka who defeated Victoria Azarenka in the final 6-2 6-2. Neither of those players will attend the 2021 edition of the event but it will still be a very strong event headlined by
Iga Swiatek, Petra Kvitova and
Belinda Bencic.
Karolina Pliskova was set for a homecoming but due to injury is out with Barbora Krejcikova and Elina Svitolina also the latest withdrawals.
Besides those, we will also see the likes of
