2021 Zavarovalnica Sava Portoroz WTA Draw including Martic v Juvan and Vekic v Konjuh

As the US Open concludes, the hard court action switches to Slovenia with 2021 Zavarovalnica Sava Portoroz set to take place between September 13 - 19.
A WTA 250 tournament which initially included Daria Kasatkina, Paula Badosa and Sara Sorribes Tormo, it now sees Petra Martic, Yulia Putintseva and Sorana Cirstea as top seeds.
The draw has now been released with some quality matches to begin the tournament. Top seed Martic will take on Kaja Juvan in one of the top ties.
Donna Vekic will face off against Ana Konjuh, while Dayana Yastremska is set to face Jasmine Paolini.

- I heartily disagree with Stubbs here. I mean c'mon! The whole idea of giving out wildcards is to give new & up-coming players a chance at getting as much circuit match-practice under their belts as possible. And this is a HUGE must and opportunity for these new kids on the block. Why curtail opportunities for these newbies in favour of stalwart monopoly?? That just isn't fair. At least give these lesser known players a chance to become more familiar at playing in bigger tournaments & give them also a chance of getting the crowds behind these underdogs.
