The stars of the WTA Tour will descend upon the city of Rabat, Morocco for the 2024
Rabat Open. The tournament is one of two events to be held on the African continent, and is scheduled to run from May 19-25, 2024.
A WTA 250 event, the Rabat Open allows players one last opportunity to compete on clay before
Roland Garros. Italian
Lucia Bronzetti will be hoping to defend the title she won last year, and will face a slew of clay-court specialists who would like to dethrone the World No.48.
Andreescu to make comeback in Rabat

Bianca Andreescu is slated to make her return following an extended layoff due to injuries. The Canadian last competed on the WTA circuit in August 2023. China's Yue Yan is the top seed, and she will be joined by compatriots Lin Zhu and Xiyu Wang.
The tournament which has been held in a myriad of different Moroccan cities but found its home in Rabat in 2016. First won in the city by Timea Bacsinszky, it has since been won by multiple big names including Maria Sakkari, Martina Trevisan and Elise Mertens. Lucia Bronzetti made it back-to-back winners from Italy in 2023 taking the title with a victory over Julia Grabher 6-4, 5-7, 7-5. A usual stop on the final week before Roland Garros, it will once again host a top field this time around in the stunning settings of Rabat.
The event will offer an impressive $267,082 in total
prize money, with the champion taking home $35,250. Furthermore, 250 WTA ranking points will also be rewarded to the winner. Below is the full breakdown.
