The US Open has released the analysis conducted by IBM AI, which indicates that Coco Gauff has the easiest draw of the tournament and sparked reactions among fans.
With the main draw now determined, the seeded players are familiar with their opponents and potential challengers in the upcoming rounds. The official technological partner, IBM AI, has predicted which players would have the easiest rounds throughout the tournament and has singled out Coco Gauff as the primary beneficiary.
The tennis community didn't agree on social media, and many argued that Gauff would actually have a challenging path.
"If having to face Andreeva, Collins and Kvitova before taking on the #1 player in the world [Swiatek] in the QF, then still needing to win two more matches to lift the throphy is the most favourable draw in the tournament, then I guess Al has already surpassed us cause that makes zero sense."
Coco Gauff will begin her journey in the tournament as the sixth seed and will face Laura Siegemund, who comes from the qualifiers. In the second round, Mirra Andreeva appears as her potential opponent, and in the third round, rivals could include Collins, Fruhvirtova, or Mertens.
If things follow the expected path and favorites prevail, Petra Kvitova would be her fourth-round opponent, leading to a potential quarterfinal match against Iga Swiatek. Should she continue to progress, Rybakina would be the likely adversary in the semifinals, and Sabalenka or Pegula in a hypothetical final.
Here are some reactions from other fans to the news:
"Maybe IBM needs to fix their algorithm because this is hogwash. How does she have the most favourable draw when she’s going to face multiple slam winners enroute to the title? Including the world number 1?"

What kind of pressure is this for the official account to be releasing this? Jeez. Also, how does she even have a favourable draw when she is projected to meet Collins in the 3rd round and Kvitova/Brady in the 4th, then Iga in the QF? Whoever made the analysis did a poor one.
