After Osaka's withdrawal, all 4 players from the Red Group at the WTA Finals in Shenzhen remain in the battle for semifinals ahead of Day 5.

During the last day of Round Robin in Red Group players will need more than just their tennis rackets. They will also need calculators as the group is more than complicated.
During Thursday in Shenzhen, Barty will be facing Kvitova and Bertens will be playing against Bencic. For trio with B in their surname, the key is easy, win the match. If Barty, Bertens or Bencic win their match, they advance into the semifinals. The task is the hardest for Petra Kvitova. If Kiki Bertens wins in 3 sets and Petra Kvitova does as well, she will need the best % of games to advance.
The task might seems the easiest for Barty, who faces Kvitova who did not win a match in Shenzhen yet. But Kvitova leads H2H record against Barty 4-2. Although in 2019 season it was 2-2 between these 2 players.
It can be considered as a surprise that Bencic or Bertens will be playing in semifinals. Bencic qualified last-minute for WTA Finals and Bertens got in as a substitute after Osaka withdrew. Now, the winner of the match will secure the spot in the semifinals. Bertens won all 3 matches against Bencic and so she can feel confident. Also win against Barty is an important factor for Bertens.
