Andrea Petkovic will retire from tennis soon as she plans to take part in the US Open as well as maybe one more event in Europe.
The German tennis player has been a fan favourite for many years thanks to her bubbly personality and attractive playstyle. Petkovic reached the quarterfinals at least once at three of the four grand slams. The only one where she never advanced past the 3rd round is Wimbledon.
She won 7 career titles, won over 500 career matches and was ranked as high as number 9 in 2011. She did not declare the US Open as her final tournament but rather said that she might play another event in Europe before calling it quits.
