After almost two months, it seems that Bianca Andreescu has finally decided on a coach to help take her game to the next level.
The Canadian parted ways with compatriot Sylvian Bruneau earlier in June, and had been competing on the WTA Tour without a coach. Bruneau was instrumental in guiding Andreescu during her meteoric rise in 2019, a period that saw her win titles in Montreal and her first Grand Salm title at the US Open.
However, it seems that her search for a coach is over as it has been reported that the 21-year old will be working with Sven Groeneveld, the longtime former coach of Maria Sharapova. Aside from Sharapova, whom Groeneveld worked with from 2014-2018, the Dutchman has worked with several current and former WTA stars, including 2017 US Open champion Sloane Stephens, Caroline Wozniacki, Ana Ivanovic and even Monica Seles.
Furthermore, the Dutchman has also worked with several men on the men's circuit, such as Tommy Haas, Mario Ancic and most recently, Taro Daniel. Groeneveld had in fact been working with Daniel for the last two years, but the pair mutually ended their collaboration two weeks ago.
