Iga Swiatek won her 2nd round match against Petra Martic without trouble and during a post-match interview on the Tennis Channel the Polish player named Andy Murray as an ideal hitting partner. Swiatek expressed admiration for Murray and what he has done in tennis especially now after his countless injuries. The Brit heard of that and quickly extended an invite to Swiatek on his official Twitter and the Polish player accepted.
Swiatek met up with Murray during his practice session yesterday albeit other commitments prevented her from appearing in tennis gear and hit together with Murray. It's the 2nd time Swiatek spent some time with an ATP legend as the Polish player spent some time with Rafael Nadal earlier in the year. She has considered Nadal an idol since childhood.
Both Murray and Swiatek play later today with the Brit taking on Carlos Alcaraz while the Polish player plays Veronika Kudermetova.
