Amanda Anisimova, no.3 seed at the ASB Classic is through to the Quarter-Finals after defeating unseeded Daria Kasatkina 6-2, 6-4.

Anisimova is currently in the top 25 and won her first title last year at the age of only 17 and looked to be a class above; she was pleased with how her game went.
"I'm happy with how I mixed up my variety in the game," she said afterwards. "I was trying to come into the net; that's what I've been working on and I was happy I was able to transition well. She has a lot of tricks up her sleeve; I was trying to match my game to hers a little bit so I could stay in the rhythm and then create the shots I wanted to hit."
The American withdrew from the US Open following the death of her father last August and ended her year early as a result not accepting her invitation to the WTA Elite Trophy but with her form to start the 2020 season, she could be a potential outside bet for the Australian Open.
Next up for the 18-year old is a player who also previously reached prominence in a short period of time in Eugenie Bouchard but currently sits at World No.267 after snapping a losing streak with victory over Caroline Garcia and Anisimova is excited to face the Canadian.
"Definitely she's playing well," added Anisimova. "It should be exciting to play another new player."
