ATP Cup Quarter-Final 1&2 Preview: Great Britain against Australia and Argentina versus Russia set for Day 7

The first ATP Cup match sees Great Britain and Australia who have been the epitome of that. Great Britain without Andy Murray were potentially written off as a result with James Ward being brought in to join the likes of Jamie Murray, Dan Evans and Cameron Norrie in the side. They made it through to the Last Eight though having a wait on their hands for Belgium to win through which they did.

This came after a defeat to Bulgaria but this was followed up with wins over Belgium and Moldova which meant they went into this tie at 2-1.

They face their biggest test yet though with Australia winning all nine games in their run and establishing themselves as the team to beat. Nick Kyrgios and Alex de Minaur have lead from the front alongside doubles duo John Peers and Chris Guccione and will head into this full of confidence after easing past Greece.

Great Britain though thrive off the underdog tag and this will hopefully carry them in good stead against the red hot home favourites, definitely a top tie for Day 7.

In the Night Session, it is the turn of Team Argentina against Team Russia. Russia similar to Australia have hardly put a foot wrong, they have only lost one out of nine matches. Karen Khachanov and Daniil Medvedev have won all six singles matches so far and so they both have received at the very least a major confidence boost.

The former will meet Guido Pella who has impressed so far this tournament beating both Marin Cilic and Kamil Majchrzak but he lost to Dennis Novak.

Medvedev will take on Diego Schwartzman in what will be a mouthwatering tie between two top players who have history with the Russian holding two previous wins over him.

Argentina though hold an ace on their side if it goes to doubles and that is Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni with them lifting 13 tour-level trophies while the Russian duo of Medvedev and Khachanov don't have any ATP Doubles crown. It will be interesting to see how this tie goes as a result.
