Anna Kalinskaya violently smashes racquet in Canadian Open meltdown against Diana Shnaider

Anna Kalinskaya lost out in a 6-3, 6-3 defeat to Diana Shnaider on Thursday night before the rain came in Toronto at the Canadian Open and she let frustrations get a hold of her during a game with multiple double faults.
Footage circulated during the defeat that saw the Russian who went on to be defeated by her compatriot take out her frustrations at the end of the game.
She went to her bench and took aim at the cooler smashing her racquet against it violently and it didn't get too much better as she went on to be defeated.
She was defeated and was one of a few results before being curtailed due to rain. Iga Swiatek eased past Viktorija Golubic 6-2, 6-1, while Jessica Pegula saw off Kamilla Rakhimova 6-4, 6-0. Marta Kostyuk also has won the opening set against Madison Keys.

It is hoped that the rain holds out for an evening session that includes Amanda Anisimova and Aryna Sabalenka. It won't feature Kalinskaya any longer who is now out of proceedings and moves on to the Cincinnati Open. A bit annoying her end after such a great DC Open in Washington.

She reached the Quarter-Finals before being defeated pretty easily by Jessica Pegula who previously had such issues with Kalinskaya, who seems to put her into deep waters that she doesn't particularly enjoy.
Kalinskaya bounced back seeing off McCartney Kessler and even had her dog Bella run onto court. “Uh… woof woof. It was a very difficult match. I’m sorry Bella, it took so long. I hope you could sleep a little bit between the points. It was very challenging, very physical, and very emotional today for me. I’m just I could finish and get a win today.”
But she couldn't do the same in losing out to Shnaider today in Canada and tempers certainly flared. For Shnaider after her great Roland Garros, her quietly brilliant season continues into the Last 16.
