Victoria Azarenka will face Turkey's Ipek Oz in the first round of the WTA 500 Doha, and there's something planned to raise awareness about the earthquake.
An earthquake in Turkey and Syria left more than 28,000 deaths, in addition to enormous destruction in those countries. Help has arrived from all parts of the world to face the tragedy, and this time the Belarusian will become part of the efforts to support the victims.
Victoria Azarenka is preparing to play this Monday the first round at the WTA 500 Doha against the Turkish player Ipek Oz. As a user commented on Twitter, there is something planned for the preview of the match between the former world No. 1 and Oz, in order to raise awareness about the earthquake.
"As I understand, something will be done in the first-round match of İpek Öz & Victoria Azarenka WTA Doha, the match will probably be played tomorrow. It is very valuable for those who do this sport that we are passionate about, to share our pain and to raise awareness for people in need"

It is not the first time that gestures like these on the part of Azarenka have been known. After her match with Marta Kostyuk at the last US Open, she commented that she is not interested in the philanthropic actions that she carries out being public knowledge:
“I’m here to try to help, which I have done a lot. Maybe not something that people see. That’s not why I do it for. I do it for people who need, you know, juniors who need clothes, other people who need money or other people who need transportation or whatever. That’s what is important to me, to help people who are in need,” said the Belarusian.
