Barty ready to take on Anisimova in 4th round - "Running shoes on"

Ashleigh Barty will have her work cut out for her as she faces American Amanda Anisimova after the 20-year-old knocked out defending Australian Open champion Naomi Osaka.

Barty has played a fabulous event so far not having any issues against any of her opponents but that might change in the 4th round as she faces Amanda Anisimova. The American ahs played brilliantly in 2022 winning a trophy already and also knocking off Noami Osaka in Melbourne. On the matchup Barty said:

"Amanda has the ability as well to take time away on return, control the centre of the court as well. So, either match-up, a little bit different, tactically [I’ll] change a few things."

But Barty also admitted she is ready for the challenge and nobody should doubt her. She looked like a person with a clear purpose in Melbourne so far:

“But, all in all, running shoes on, try to bring in some variety. The slice backhand will come out I promise. We’ll try to junk them around and get them off balance as much as possible.”
