Barty records first win of 2020 with victory over Pavlyuchenkova

Ashleigh Barty is the first player to advance into the quarterfinals at the 2020 Adelaide International after defeating Pavlyuchenkova.
It was a difficult beginning of the season for world number 1 when she lost her first match in the Brisbane. However, now, Barty plays in Adelaide and she had a good beginning.
The Aussie faced Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the 2nd round. She first lost the first set 4-6 but then came back to win the match 2-1 and advance into the quarterfinals.
In the first round match, Arina Rodionova defeated 2017 US Open Champion, Sloane Stephens. She was followed by Julia Goerges and the eight-seedee Marketa Vondrousova who played her first match since Wimbledon 2019.
