Laura Siegemund was winning 7-6 5-5 in the opening match of the 2020 Kooyong Classic in Melbourne when both players agreed to quit the match.

The 2020 Australian Open is right behind the corner but things are getting interesting. Maria Sharapova and Laura Siegemund did not finish their match at the 2020 Kooyong Classic in Melbourne.
Siegemund has won the first set 7-6 and the score in the second was 5-5 when both players agreed to end the match. Players were having breathing problems as there was smoke in the air. After the match, Sharapova told media:
“When I heard Laura speak to the umpire and said she was struggling with it as well, I was like ok. Thankfully I'm not the only one."
Laura Siegemund confirmed Maria's words when she said: “It certainly doesn't feel like it's the healthiest conditions to play in.”
Players at the upcoming Australia Open had also big problems with the air. First, the practice was suspended in Melbourne park. Later, Eugenie Bouchard called for the long medical time out due to bad air conditions during her qualifying match.
Dalila Jakupovic has withdrawn during her match against Stefanie Voegele due to horrendous coughing and breathing difficulties. Conditions are definitely not suitable ahead of 2020 Australian Open as also Novak Djokovic raised some doubts.
