Bianca Andreescu won today's match at the
Internationaux de Strasbourg but after the match, she withdrew due to an injury.
This week was supposed to be great preparation for Bianca Andreescu ahead of the
Roland Garros but the Canadian endured another setback. Andreescu played another grea match today winning against Zanevska whom she defeated 6-1 6-4. It was her 2nd win in a row on clay after not playing on the surface since 2019.
However, after she won her match it was announced on the official social media page of the event that she withdrew from the event due to injury. A little later she gave a press conference where she identified the injury as a small abdominal tear. She felt discomfort during the match and tests revealed a small tear.
Andreescu also said it is not serious and she will be ready to go for the
French Open. The withdrawal was mostly precautionary as to not aggravate the tear further and allow it to heal.
She was supposed to play either Zhang or Cirstea in the quarterfinals but the winner of that match will move on directly to the semifinals. We wish Andreescu a speedy recovery and we can't wait to see her at Roland Garors.
