Eugenie Bouchard will not continue her stint at W100 Oeiras in Portugal with a second round defeat on Thursday afternoon to Danka Kovinic.
Bouchard follows the same route as Elina Svitolina in heading out of the tournament albeit a round later than the Ukrainian after defeating Diane Parry earlier this week.
A tough field for a small
ITF tournament, Kovinic will now face Marie Bouzkova tomorrow who is top seed.
She breezed into a 5-1 lead taking four games in a row. Bouchard cut the deficit to 5-3 but couldn't convert a pivotal break point opportunity and Kovinic closed it out and again it was another uphill battle as she went a set and a break down.
Bouchard managed to get it back but dropped her serve again as Kovinic broke for a 6-5 lead and saved a break point converting her first match point.
