The
Dallas Open will take place between 5-11 February and as ever, there was a Women's Tennis Classic prior to the tournament beginning featuring former Australian Open champion,
Caroline Wozniacki and former Wimbledon finalist,
Eugenie Bouchard.
Wozniacki claimed it 6-4, 6-2. The Dane hinted that she may play some tournaments in the Middle East after her early exit from the Australian Open, but has not signed up for any and had already been confirmed for this exhibition. While Bouchard is more of a part-time tennis player nowadays. The Canadian has turned her hand to pickleball instead albeit with mixed results so it is the first time she has played tennis this season.
Last year saw Madison Keys ad Sloane Stephens battle on opening weekend and this time, it was Wozniacki and Bouchard that shared the court with the former World No.1 winning handily in straight sets. Next up for Wozniacki is likely the Sunshine Double with Indian Wells and Miami set to take place in March.
So a confidence boosting win for Wozniacki who also took part in multiple pieces of social media content with Bouchard over the weekend including roasting tennis players and despite seeing off a player who is not as active anymore, she will hope to take that into California in the coming weeks.
