Kim Clijsters won't play at Roland Garros or at Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome, she has announced after the wildcards for the former were revealed on Monday evening.
Clijsters wasn't involved at the Western & Southern Open due to injury but decided to play at the US Open with a defeat against Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-3, 5-7, 1-6 with some glimmers from the six time Grand Slam champion of old form.
Her return itself was halted due to Coronavirus and she only played two tournaments in Dubai and Monterrey losing to Garbine Muguruza and Johanna Konta before the season was curtailed.
The former two-time French Open finalist took to Twitter to reveal the news and that she will spend time with her family without a restart date in mind.
"I have decided to spend the next few weeks with my family. NYC showed how much progress I’ve made & also what I need to work on. Not sure where I’ll play next but will let you know soon. For now, back to training & school lunches."
