Coco Gauff and Paula Badosa moved on to the next round of Wimbledon with the American being in a very tricky affair until the end.
Paula Badosa had no issues in her match cruising easily past her opponent in less than 60 minutes. Badosa dominated play largely from the baseline and her opponent simply did not have the ball-striking ability to handle the Spaniard who moves on easily.
Coco Gauff did not have such an easy time because her opponent actually took the ball quite early attacking Gauff. It proved quite successful early on as Gauff was unable to handle it at al. Ruse took the first set 6-2 despite committing 16 errors and hitting only four winners.
Things changed as Gauff upped her game considerably to take it 6-3. Ruse did not serve as well and once again committed far too many errors against Gauff who was quite solid. The American was better in the 3rd set as well but missed many great chances to finish off the match quicker than she did.
She was up 3-1 early but gave it back to make it 3-3. Later in the set, she had numerous break points across several games but she was only able to get the break at 5-5 after squandering almost ten of them. Once she broke her opponent it was an easy job to finish it off 7-5 in the final set.
