Brenda Fruhvirtova created history over the weekend, becoming the youngest player at 16-years old to win 10
ITF singles titles.
The Czech prodigy lifted the ITF W60 Hechingen title in Germany,
defeating Slovenian Ziva Falkner 6-3, 6-1 to claim the biggest title of her young career. Even more astonishing is the fact that she won all her five matches in straight sets.
Fruhvirtova expected to see a huge rise in ranking
The 16-year old was ranked World No.141 ahead of the tournament, but is now expected to climb to No.120 when the ranking points are updated this week. Fruhvirtova's previous titles had come at the ITF W25K (eight titles) and ITF W40 (one title) level.
Other players who had won multiple ITF titles before turning 17 include retired Belgian Justine Henin, former Roland Garros champion Jelena Ostapenko and rising Russian star Mirra Andreeva.
