Australian tennis player
Daria Saville displayed the lighter side of what goes on behind-the-scenes during tennis tournaments when she posted a playful photo involving
Rafael Nadal and
Daniil Medvedev at the Western & Southern Open.
According to the photo, the WTA World No.72 observed Nadal and Medvedev biking in the gym. Motivated by their example, Daria also started to bike before she posted the moment on one of her Instagram Stories.
“If they bike, then I bike too,” wrote Daria Saville.
Saville had the opportunity to play in Cincinnati, but was unable to do so due to Bianca Andreescu withdrawing late from the event. Saville would have made the main draw as the first alternate if Andreescu had withdrawn from Cincinnati before the qualification matches began, but the 2019 US Open champion chose to opt out after the draw had already been announced.
"I am not even salty, but yea happens all the time," Saville tweeted. "If anyone form main draw pulls out before qualifying matches start then players from the alternate list get in.
"Matches started today at 10 so had to be just before then. And I was first alternate."
