WTA Draw confirmed for 2022 Western & Southern Open including Serena Williams - Emma Raducanu

The WTA Draw has been confirmed for Western & Southern Open which is due to take place between August 15-21, 2022 and sees in particular a blockbuster tie between Emma Raducanu and Serena Williams.

Raducanu heading into her US Open title defence faces Serena who is heading out of the sport after Flushing Meadows in a match which is bound to garner lots of attention.

Iga Swiatek is top seed and faces Sloane Stephens or Alize Cornet. Also in Cincinnati includes Wimbledon Champion, Elena Rybakina who could face Garbine Muguruza in the second round, Bianca Andreescu faces Camila Giorgi with the winner facing Jessica Pegula.

The winner of Serena Williams - Raducanu doesn't get it any easier with Kaia Kanepi and a fresh Victoria Azarenka after her visa didn't allow her to play Canada awaiting with the Belarusian showing signs of form in Washington.

In the same quarter, Serena's sister Venus faces Karolina Pliskova, while Leylah Fernandez takes on Ekaterina Alexandrova with potentially Naomi Osaka awaiting if she can get past Zhang Shuai.
