American tennis player Coco Vandeweghe announced the 2023 US Open would be the final time she competes at the event, and the news was met with joyful sarcasm by some fans.
Vandeweghe was honored at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Tuesday when it was announced that she would be playing in her final US Open. The fans were treated to a tribute video commemorating her career achievements, with the 31-year old present and waving to the cheering crowd.

The former World No.9 has made it known she's a staunch supporter of former US President Donald Trump, and several fans used her retirement as an opportunity to make jokes about their connection. Trump was recently arrested on state charges that he conspired to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.
"Trump got arrested so she said I'm done," joked one fan.
