"Don’t make it such a big deal": Evert defends Raducanu amid press conference criticism

Chris Evert has come out in support of Emma Raducanu after her Madrid Open press conference featured the Brit providing very short responses which some deemed rude.

Emma Raducanu didn't feel like chatting during her Madrid Open press conference providing rather short responses to the questions of the media. The media wanted to hear Raducnu talk about her compatriot who qualified for the main draw but she wasn't very interested which many fans on social media bashed for being unprofessional.

Evert came out in support of Raducanu explaining that tennis players simply have days like that when they really don't want to talk:

"In her defense, every one of us has had a day, or a press conference like this… don’t make it such a big deal…."

She plays later today taking on Viktoriya Tomova in the first round. It comes after she was ousted in the first round of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix last week.
