The draw has been completed ahead of the National Bank Open Women's Draw which will take place in Montreal between Aug 9 - Aug 15, 2021.
A key tournament on the way to the US Open, it returns after being cancelled in 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic with the defending champion being
Bianca Andreescu.
Top names out of the tournament include Ashleigh Barty, Naomi Osaka, Sofia Kenin, Iga Swiatek, Serena Williams, Belinda Bencic and Barbora Krejcikova for a variety of reasons including the recent Olympic Games.
This means that
Aryna Sabalenka is top seed followed by Andreescu and
Elina Svitolina.
Sabalenka will face either Dayana Yastremska or Sloane Stephens in the opening round, while it could be an All Canadian tie in the second round between Andreescu and Leylah Annie Fernandez.
Svitolina faces either Shuai Zhang or Johanna Konta.
Simona Halep who will make her return to tennis and was the 2018 champion is set to face off against either the in-form Danielle Collins or Jil Teichmann.
Garbine Muguruza opens against either Jelena Ostapenko or Katerina Siniakova.
While top ties from the opening round to be played include Maria Sakkari against Marie Bouzkova, Elena Rybakina against Liudmila Samsonova and Coco Gauff against Anastasija Sevastova.
