The draw has been released for the inaugural Fed Cup Finals and the 12 nations are now set against each other in Budapest between April 14-19 2020.
In Group A, France, Russia and Hungary are pitted against each other. Reigning champions France will be top seeds after Kristina Mladenovic and Caroline Garcia sealed a 3-2 win over Australia in Perth.
They will take on Russia who have a 6-3 Head 2 Head record against them while hosts Hungary will have home advantage as they complete the group. A potential match sees Kristina Mladenovic against Timea Babos - as doubles partners collide.
Group B sees Australia who will have Ashleigh Barty in tow as top seeds, they will take on Belarus who will have Aryna Sabalenka and Aliaksandra Sasnovich. Rounding proceedings out are Belgium who succeeded in qualification
last week.
Group C are USA, Spain and Slovakia. The former are eighteen time champions and have Sofia Kenin, Serena Williams and Coco Gauff in tow; as well as Bethanie Mattek-Sands, one of the best doubles players in the world as they are one of the main favourites in the draw.
We could get a repeat of Sofia Kenin against Garbine Muguruza from the Australian Open final but this time on the clay courts.
Then it is Czech Republic, Germany and Switzerland in Group D. Among the ties we could get include Petra Kvitová against Belinda Bencic in one of the hardest to call groups.
