Elena Rybakina is known for her Ice Queen persona in not giving a lot away and letting her tennis do the talking. She certainly did that again at the US Open.
Rybakina's press conference lasted only two minutes as the Kazakh ace decided to only answer a few questions and dodge those surrounding Stefano Vukov with little detail given.
The former Wimbledon champion who infamously previously hit out at the press for not giving her good questions then wasn't requested again was asked whether it was different to be without Vukov. As well as her new coaching partnership with Yuri Schukin.
She also said that she will say whether she has a new coach incoming. Speaking a few more one word answers, it was an awkward two minutes for the journalists in the room and seemingly for Rybakina too.
"Thank you. Yeah, really happy for the win and looking forward for the next match of course," said Rybakina.
"Well of course it is different. We worked for five years. But still I got support from Yuri Schukin."
"And same, we talked about the tactics and everything. So I was prepared for the match. Well, I don’t want to talk about it too much but yeah, that was our decision – to split
"I will let you know, guys, if my coaching situation is going to change, so."
