Elena Rybakina tops 2025 WTA ace leaderboard, with Noskova and Osaka in the Top 5

The WTA season concluded for its stars after last Saturday's final in Riyadh between Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka, where the Kazakh claimed her first WTA Finals title and wrapped up a remarkable season—especially concerning her serve—by being crowned the Queen of Aces after surpassing the mark of 500 aces in a single season, something that had not happened in nine seasons.

The Kazakh leads the list of players with the most aces this season, where Linda Noskova and Naomi Osaka also take their place within the top 5. Only four players from the Top 10 rank among the 10 women with the most aces, notably including World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and No. 2 Iga Swiatek.

However, the difference between Rybakina and her pursuers is vast. The World No. 5 finished the season with a 59-19 record. In her five WTA Finals matches alone, she hit 51 aces, including 15 in the semi-finals against Pegula and another 13 against Sabalenka in the final. The 26-year-old reached the mark of 516 aces for the season, slightly more than 140 aces ahead of second place.

Two players outside the Top 10 follow Rybakina: Czech World No. 13 Linda Noskova (373) and Danish World No. 12 Clara Tauson (358). Both Noskova and Tauson stood out this year by reaching their first WTA 1000 final, crowning notable seasons within the Top 15, and ranking among the best in terms of serving—a key weapon that allowed them to compete with the world's best.

With great regularity and 73 matches played this season, the Russian managed to secure wins week after week, reaching 339 aces by the end of the season. The 31-year-old had the best season of her career and ended the year with her first appearance at the WTA Finals, after stepping onto the court as an alternate following the withdrawal of Madison Keys.

Fifth place goes to 4-time major champion Naomi Osaka—who finished the season ranked World No. 16 after playing only 45 matches—numbers significantly lower than the players ranked above her. Nevertheless, her 307 aces give her an average slightly above 7 aces per match, standout numbers that helped her reach the Canadian Open final and the US Open semi-finals.

The rest of the Top 10 is composed of a mix of surprising names alongside two of the best players of recent years. World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka finished as the 6th player with the most aces: a total of 302 in 76 matches. Also in 8th place appears World No. 2 Iga Swiatek, who reached 243 aces in a total of 80 matches—the player with the most matches played throughout the season. While the Pole has never been known for her high ace count, her serve is always reliable, and this year she managed to reflect that in aces.

Other names in the Top 10 include World No. 20 Elise Mertens (261 aces in 56 matches), Russia's Veronika Kudermetova (240 aces in 50 matches), and American Ann Li, with a total of 236 aces after 55 matches—making her the lowest-ranked player within the season's Top 10 aces, currently at World No. 38.

Further down the Top 10, Americans dominate, notably Madison Keys (12th, 225 aces), Amanda Anisimova (13th, 220 aces), Jessica Pegula (15th, 193 aces), and Coco Gauff (16th, 188 aces). They are joined by names such as Karolina Muchova (17th, 186 aces) and Lulu Sun (18th, 179 aces).
