Good news for Emma Raduycanu who will soon return to the tour after withdrawing from the WTA 1000 Miami Open due to a back injury. The 2021 US Open champion had a wild card confirmed to be in Miami, but withdrew after back problems.
The former world No. 10 has returned to the Tour in the 2024 season after 9 months out with injuries and has had good performances so far, although she has not had a great run in a single tournament.
The 21-year-old has been practicing at the LTA National Tennis Center in London in the last few days on clay courts. Raducanu will play for Great Britain in the Billie Jean King Cup qualifier against France at the beginning of April and will then contest the WTA 500 Stuttgart Open, where she shares a star-studded draw.
Leading the main draw in Germany will be two-time defending champion Iga Swiatek and she will be joined by 14 of the top-20, also including Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina and Jessica Pegula.
"We'll again be presenting our loyal spectators in the Porsche Arena with the world's top players," said Tournament Director Markus Günthardt. "It's our goal."
Raducanu continues to get wild cards into tournaments as a former Grand Slam champion and one of the most exciting tennis players for thousands of fans, who despite not having a US Open title-level result again, still manages to grab the attention of the fans around the world.
